Introduction

I have been practicing and teaching meditation for more than 20 years now. Meditation helps you go deeper and connect with yourself. It helps you tap into an energy zone which you may have never realized you possess. You will find yourself calmer and content mentally physically and emotionally as well. And this connection with yourself would benefit not only you, but the transformation effect you will achieve would help and permeate within all the people and objects you are interacting with. You will notice the change in your social interactions your personal and professional lives. And the beauty of it is that you will not have to make any extra effort to do all these, once you are able to connect with yourself the rest will flow. When streams of water flows, along their journey they irrigate the lands they flow on, they provide life to various plants and animals on their way. This is not the primary focus of the river or streams, but subtly they nourish all other life forms they interact with. Similarly, by making this practice a part of your life you are enriching others around you as well by radiating this energy into them as well. A lot of my students have mentioned changes they have experienced in their personal relationships, they have told me stories about the benefits they experience in their workplaces due to their newfound positive outlook. All that is good, in fact great, but always remember that is not the goal. You do not meditate with a goal in mind that you will improve your relationship or that you want to get a promotion, in fact just the opposite, you want to free yourself from all those thoughts. You want to create a blank slate which will allow you to go deeper and connect with yourself, and like I mentioned before it is guaranteed the rest will flow and your life will grow.

The Course

This course is laid out for three weeks. The goal here is to lay down the foundation of a balanced meditation practice that you can follow for the rest of your life. The course work will provide all the tools and information and will guide you step by step through your journey. During the course our team will be available to work with you if you need any guidance or support. Every day the instrctor will give you some basic instructions for that day. A typical session would take just about 20 minutes. You are free to choose anytime of the day to practice per your convenience. But it is important that you follow it every day without skipping sessions, and it is advisable to plan for the same time every day. Meditation should not be thought of as a task or routine which you have to do for 10 or 20 or more minutes every day, it should be a something that you willingly learn, absorb and practice every day. Initially there may have to be an amount of willpower that you have to exhert to stay focused on your routine to practice every day but once you start experiencing the benefits you will yourself make the time and effort to practice. And we will be there with you all along the way.

There are various types of meditation. Each of them have their own ways to cultivate you into higher and deeper awareness. In this course work we will look into four core techniques combining elements of insight (vipassana), calming (samatha) and pranayama. For a regular person it may be overwhelming to choose one and only one form and try to select the most ideal form of meditation and try to master it. All types of meditation are good as long as it works for you. So here we focus on teaching our students combining four different techniques which supplement and amplify the benefits of each other. These have been selected as it will be easy for beginners as well as advanced users to take advantage of the practice.
